MOVEMBER SPECIAL: WHY THIS PARTNERSHIP?
This year for the very first time, we have partnered up with Movember, the most significant charitable endeavour changing the face of men’s health around the world.
WHY THIS PARTNERSHIP?
As a men’s care brand, we prioritize men’s inner and outer well-being. The male population often considers health problems taboo, and today’s guys are subjected to stereotypes that they need to be strong every day and not show any weakness.
What we like about Movember is that it makes these conversation topics more accessible and opens a dialogue about mental health as well as testicular and prostate cancer.
Using a light and fun message, its communication campaign incites “Mo Bros” to work together toward a common goal: breaking the barriers of taboo topics while letting their moustaches grow.
WHAT EXACTLY IS THE MOVEMBER MOVEMENT?
This organization is mainly known for its social movement. It encourages men to let their moustaches grow every November.
“Mo Bros” (what the movement’s participants are called) begin on November 1 by completely shaving their faces, then they let their moustaches grow for 30 days. During the month, we are treated to a parade of different moustaches, ranging from simple to sophisticated and comical. But that’s not all—sporting one’s ’stache is in fact a tool for opening a dialogue about men’s health, and it all starts one simple question: Why are you growing your moustache?
The moustache-growing challenge is just the best known of the movement many facets; Movember also encourages men to meet at a variety of events to discuss the cause, partake in team sports activities and collect donations.
Donations made to the organization has enabled it to subsidize 1,250 projects across the globe since 2003, projects that have shaken up research into men’s health and transformed how health services connect with and support men. Learn more at movember.com.
HOW ARE WE JOINING THIS CAUSE?
Given the current circumstances regarding COVID-19, isolation among men is more present, and medical services have become more difficult to access. Although there are no miracle solutions, joining the Movember movement allows us to open a dialogue about the causes of untimely death among men, and sharing information is what we commit to doing every October and November.
Every year, Movember raises funds to support various programs that help men. To support this organization, we commit to donating $1 for every product sold in store or online and $5 for every shaving routine or set sold on cwbeggs.com between October 1 and December 2, 2020. Up to a total amount of $15,000.
